The Republican Women’s Federal Forum began in the early 1970’s, when a group of prominent Republican women in Washington, DC, saw the need for an organization that would enable Republican leaders to present their policies in a positive setting. There was also a desire to provide an organizational bond for women in the federal government and in the local metropolitan area who were interested in keeping up with current Administration positions and policy. Mrs. Richard Nixon, Honorary Chairman, presided at the first meeting of the Republican Women’s Federal Forum on February 7, 1974. Betty Ford, Honorary Co-Chairman, brought the group its first speaker, Vice President Gerald Ford. Since that first meeting, our mission has remained consistent with the goals of our founders, and the Forum continues to offer outstanding speakers and programs, featuring candid discussions with Republican leadership, strategists, and media personalities. Recent speakers include The Honorable Lynne Cheney; Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez; Senator John Cornyn; the Honorable Newt Gingrich; former RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie; and Senator Elizabeth Dole. Our monthly luncheon programs provide members with direct access to GOP policymakers, and gives them an opportunity to interact through a Q & A session following the speakers presentation. The Republican Women’s Federal Forum luncheons are held on the second Thursday each month, September through June, at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, DC. Reservations are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. The Forum has been called the best organization of its kind in the Washington area. Join us! We think you’ll agree! |
